Objectives

The main objectives of the Digital Technology District can be summarized as follows:

• development of a network among all different players working on the territory (companies, territorial agencies, research centres…) operating in ICT sector
• creation of new companies in the sector
• development of research and innovation projects
• support to the creation of excellence centres in the sector
• development of international networks and attraction of the principal players of the sector

in order to support the economic development with repercussions on the industry of the entire region.

The Industrial District Development Agency works in line with other initiatives because its supporting bodies are persuaded that only native integration allows the achievement of strategic objectives and performance of development actions on the territory in a faster and more penetrating way.

The creation of the Digital Technology District brings about many opportunities for companies already established in the geographic area of the District, for the ones willing to establish in the area, for research centres and for the FVG region.

In particular, as far as currently established companies are concerned, the creation of the District is finalized to:

• the development of synergies and cooperation with other enterprises;
• the awareness of working in a system recognized at regional and cross-regional level;
• the increasing opportunity of R&D activities in cooperation with companies or research centres and Universities;
• the possibility to benefit from regional laws on innovation for the support and competitive development of enterprises and the fostering of research, innovation and technological transfer actions.

For companies that will establish in the area from now on, belonging to a district will also mean:

• entering a network of relations, synergies and cooperation with other companies, research corporations, territorial corporations and services;
• relying on opportunely developed resources and skills from universities and from the district itself;
• benefiting from high added value services from research centres, trade associations, territorial corporations.

Research and competence centres will have the opportunity to

• have a privileged relationship with the industrial system;
• offer complementary services with other corporations (trade associations, territorial corporations, …);
• develop research and development actions in cooperation with companies and universities;
• create sectorial skill development centres and favour the settlement of the major economic players of the sector;
• control and address the training service supply and demand in the sector.

Finally, the objective is that of allowing the FVG region to find in the agency managing the District a reference partner for:

• evaluating proposals and guidelines in the sector;
• monitoring the process, needs and potentialities of the sector and its players;
• developing territorial marketing initiatives to attract investments in the region.
