Friuli Innovazione
Friuli Innovazione, Research and Technology Transfer Centre, aims at facilitating the cooperation between the University of Udine and the economical system of Friuli Venezia Giulia through know-how exchange between researchers and companies and the industrial use of the scientific and technological results developed by the university.
In 2004 the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia assigned Friuli Innovazione the actuation and management of the Technology and Science Park Luigi Danieli of Udine, as an ideal space where ideas become projects and research becomes products. An extension of over 50.000 sqm, 45.000 sqm of green areas, 2.700 sqm of covered surface, more than 1.500 sqm of parking. Offices and labs are surrounded by nature, meeting and convention rooms, training rooms and cultural facilities, inside the Udine Industrial Area, few minutes from the European motorway network and accessible from several international airports (Trieste, Venice, Lubiana, Klagenfurt).
Spazio Impresa is the integrated offer of services for companies, research and new business ideas providing personalized services aiming at developing strategies, processes, technologies and human resources to support and potentiate innovation in every step.
The main sectors characterizing the current developments of Friuli Innovazione include biotechnologies, metallurgy and technologies of surfaces and advanced materials, ICT (Information & Communication Technology), energy and environment and wood.
Particularly in the ICT sector the expertise of Friuli Innovazione can rely on the of project management such as the business incubator Techno Seed, offering the possibility to test a new entrepreneurial idea before launching it on the market, thus reducing costs and red tape; the Techno Growth accelerator for the development of already existing entrepreneurial facilities; the “ICT and Hi-Tech project: from current technologies to future ones”, that aims at spreading and implementing IT know-how favouring its use in small local companies; the “Coll@borative Strategies and value creation” project aiming at the diffusion of know-how and of the potentials of technologies connected to cooperation actions inside companies.
Friuli Innovazione is also part of the ICT observatory in the regional ICT education pole project and is about to create an excellence centre on virtual prototyping and test, in cooperation with the University of Udine and VI-Grade Srl.
